Dental Team

Our intention for now and the future is to appreciate and uphold our patients belief and trust in us as a team which consistently works together, supporting each other, to provide the best oral health care in a safe, comfortable environment.

We pledge to offer informed choices to our patients of a comprehensive range of dentistry and to deliver those choices in a sympathetic, courteous and prompt manner.

It is important to us that we strive always to work, clinically and administratively, with the greatest level of concentration and skill, enabling our service to be efficient, high quality, clinically effective and thus cost effective for the practice and consequently our patients.

The whole team aims to work constantly to improve our environment, skills and education in order that improvements are beneficial and inspiring of us all.

Dr Louise Taylor BChD Principal Dentist GDC No. 65863 Louise Taylor spent a few years working at several practices in Yorkshire region before joining Greenside Dental Care, where she has been working over 10 years. She is a principal dentist here as well as another practice in Bradford. She has a firm belief in painfree dentistry and has also developed special interests in both facial aesthetic and skin rejuvenation, which she currently attend related courses. Louise likes to keep fit by mountain biking, skiing and running and enjoys family life. She has 2 young children, Grace (6) and Tom (4), and an understanding husband called Alastair.

Dr Chris Woods BChD Principal Dentist GDC No. 77633 Chris graduated from Leeds Univeristy in 2000 and practised dentistry in Huddersfield, Leeds, Bradford and Cleckheaton. He's now a partner in Greenside Dental Care and has been working here for the last 7 years. He has a special interest in aesthetic and implant dentistry and believes in continuous learning. He has recently completed an Invisalign course is due to start an implant course in November 08. Outside dentistry, Chris enjoys mountain biking, playing squash and watching films.

Dr Philip Peter Shaw BDS, LDSRCS, DGDP (UK), MGDSRCSEd, DPDS Associate Dentist GDC No. 62097 Philip graduated from Kings College London in 1987. He was an associate dentist in Essex for 2 years before purchasing his own multi surgery in Manchester which he sold after 14 years. Since then, he he worked in a private practice in York before joining Greenside Dental Care in 2006. Beside working at Greenside Dental Care, Philip is a vocational training advisor in North Manchester where he supervises the training of newly qualified dental practitioners in general practice. He is also an associate advisor at Dental Protection At the moment, he is currently studying a Masters in Medical Law.

Jai Simran Kaur BSc Chemistry, Diploma in Clinical Sciences (Leeds) Hygienist Jai graduated from Leeds University in 2001 with a Diploma in Hygiene and worked for two practices before joining Greenside Dental Care in 2004. She would like to do charity work, both dental related and others, in deprived areas. She is currently involved in CPD (Continuous Professional Development). She has two daughters and a husband of 15 years, all of whom keep her busy out of working hours.

Karen Charlton Diploma in Hygiene Hygienist Karen also graduated from Leeds with a Diploma in Hygiene. Before joining Greenside Dental Care in 2005, she worked in community and general dental practices. She enjoys treating nervous patients and are currently involved in CPD

Dr Malcolm Downing BChD GDC No. 43126 Malcolm qualified at Leeds University Dental School and has stayed and lived in the Halifax area for long enough to be now naturalised! He owned and ran a single handed private practice in Halifax until retiring and selling the practice in 2004. Returned to part time work in 2006 on realising how much he missed the patient contact and the satisfaction of a job well done. Now combines part time practice at Greenside with varied family and social life within which Grandchildren and sport features heavily. Enjoys spending time relaxing, walking, golfing in the Lake District where interests in wildlife and photography give him plenty of scope. He cannot imagine not working in his current capacity at Greenside, where hopefully his little bit of experience can help the team deliver a very friendly effective Dental Care Service.
