“I have had the implant of my left central incisor for thirteen years now and have been delighted with it. It was needed because the original tooth had gradually become darker and darker as the result of an accident which knocked it back, and the tooth snapped off. Start with a relaxed, no-obligation consultation where we’ll discuss your concerns, answer your questions, check you are ’dentally fit’ and see if dental implants are the right option for you.
If implants are suitable, we’ll carry out a detailed assessment including digital scans and X-rays to plan your treatment accurately.
A titanium implant is placed into the jawbone under local anaesthetic. Healing time varies, but it typically takes a few months for the implant to bond fully with the bone.
Once healed, we attach a natural-looking porcelain crown to the implant. It’s colour-matched to blend seamlessly with your existing teeth.

Dr Chris Woods has over 20 years’ experience in dentistry, with a special interest in dental implants. He completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Implant Dentistry in 2012 and focuses on helping patients replace missing teeth with secure, natural-looking solutions — often avoiding the need for uncomfortable dentures.
Chris is passionate about modern, digital dentistry and provides high-quality implant and restorative care with a calm, reassuring approach.
Outside the practice, he lives in Leeds with his wife and four children, and enjoys running and cycling when he can.
Most patients report minimal discomfort, and we use a local anaesthetic to ensure you’re comfortable throughout. You may experience some tenderness afterwards, which can be managed with over-the-counter pain relief.
With good oral hygiene and regular check-ups, implants can last 15+ years and often much longer.
Just like a natural tooth: brush twice daily, clean between your teeth, and see your dentist regularly.
As with any surgical procedure, there are small risks such as infection or implant failure. We minimise these risks through careful planning and follow-up.
Most adults with healthy gums and enough jawbone are suitable for implants. We'll assess this at your consultation.
